Internship
What I've Learned
- How to look through
articles in the paper to find a way to use the same subject in my own
article
- How to look through
an article and find a contact that I can speak to in order to get more
information on something
- How to find the
person that I need to talk to when I want to get information on a certain
company
- How to plan out
my questions in advance in order to get the information that I need
to write an article
- How to get information
through ways other than using the telephone, using the Internet and
e-mail
- How to use Microsoft
Access and Excel
- How to create
text files and add them into Access
- Also, I got to
get more practice on things that I learned in class and working at my
other internship. I got practice writing articles and calling people
on the phone to get information
- I've also become
more comfortable with the whole process of getting information and writing
articles and it's now a lot easier for me to do than it was at the beginning
of the semester
- How to edit articles
and press releases
- How to get graphics
and pictures for articles
- Organizational
skills for keeping my file in order with my contacts and the information
I've gotten from my contacts, as well as my faxes and press releases
and articles
- I have also learned
a little about computers and new technology through writing articles
about them
- I've also learned
how to go about getting permission to use someone else's article in
our magazine
